Some facts from the glorious history of Jaipur

  • The first planned city of India focusing Vastu Shashtra strictly in accordance to Shilp Shahstra (the Bible of Indian Architecture)
  • Originally and formally established by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II on 18th Nov 1727.

City Palace
The stunningly beautiful City Palace is the present day residence of Jaipur's Royal Family. The palace is open for the general public to visit as only a part of the Palace known as Chandra Mahal is occupied by the Royal Family. The grand entrance and the rest of the palace is a classic example of Rajputana and Islamic architecture where fresco painting and carving works is just eye-catching. The most important thing is about this place is that it is highly maintained and an important place where high-level events keep its ambiance in the air.


Amer Fort
The alluring Hill Fort of Rajasthan is the one of that destination in not only Jaipur but in entire Rajasthan that received the highest tourist footfall every year as compared to any other place. The glory of the Rajputana ear can truly be traced and understood alone with the visit of Amer Fort. The fort has a grand entrance known as Jaleb Chowk and the interior complex has Sheesh Mahal, Sawai Man Singh Palace, Jenana Palace, Rangmahal and Diwan-e-Aam.


Jantar Mantar
The royal astronomical laboratory has 19 astronomical instruments that were created and designed to understand the coordinates of solar systems to estimate the lunar days, eclipse and upcoming weather situations and movements of celestial bodies. Since Sawai Jai Singh II was a keen observer and art lover the personally took charge for supervising the construction of this laboratory.


Hawa Mahal
The palace with 957 windows is clearly the most favorite site among tourists who mostly visit this place in the early morning hours for best of photography moments. The palace was constructed for ladies of the royal house so that they can watch the activities of the local people and festival celebrations from these windows. The shape and architecture of this place makes it the most photographed destination.
